What we’re looking for is the Intel High Definition Audio Controller (or HDA). We’re disabling the two options below:

$ su -
# grep `position\|model` /etc/modprobe.d/snd_hda_intel
#options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2
#options snd-hda-intel model=auto
# reboot
